Trophies

After competing most of my life, whether it be racquetball, Imac or Pattern,
I've reached a point most trophies a kinda a pain. Just moved and threw
away over 20 trophies/plaques and have given about that many to Special
Olympics when appropriate(they only accept the stand up sports type)

My question is am I alone in this thought? At what point is a trophy truely
a wasted expense? Many Sportsman and Intermediate pilots treasure their
wood, but is it feasible to recognize the upper levels in a different way?

This doesn't include those events that have specialized trophies.

On the other hand, I have a close friend that has every award he has won,
collecting dust throughout his basement.

Just a thought.

Thanx

ed
