The newer 8103's also have a channel /throw graph type screen similar to the code 75 in the 10X. Very NICE feature........J

On radios like the 347-388 etc. and 8103 you inhibit the flap knob with a
separate code. On the 10X and 10SXII it is in the menu for wing type
flaperons because you are using a flap channel as an aileron.

Quite a few of my friends have moved over from other radios but still
hanker after certain functions. One is throttle kill. Not usually needed
because the JR has a fast action mechanical trim on the throttle. It can easily
be done, however, by just mixing an increase in throttle channel throw with
the throttle channel and putting it on a mix switch. (Ch 1 to Ch 1).

A devout ex-Futaba guy wanted a throttle trim on the left hand 10X
ratchet. This is the above mentioned flap lever. It can't be active if flaperons
are being used, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. Not being able to resist a challenge,
this is what happened.....

1. Use Code 17 to turn off (INH) AUX-1 (this will make the control lever
inactive on the flap channel but usable for something else.
2. Open up a mix and select Channel 6 (Flap) to 1 (throttle)
3. Go to third page on the mix option and under MASTER select origination
lever (ORIG)
4. Now go back to mix % page and select how much throttle trim reduction
you need from that lever.

The channel six lever now works as a throttle trim.

Personally I would never use that option. I do use a hi-low idle option by 
mixing ch-1 with ch-1 on the MIX-SW. This is very good for landings if
your engine runs a bit faster at the end of a flight. just as I hit the
threshold of a landing approach I drop the rpm's. I have found that
"throttle-kill" actually is not good because the plane does not slow down as much if the 
engine is not running.

A tip is to also use Code 75 which displays all the channels and how they
move so you can check to see if you have introduced any unwanted mix
activity.

I have a plane set up with flaperons, meaning that one aileron is plugged
into "aileron" and the other is plugged into aux 1. I selected wing type
"Flaperon" so that the ratchet tab on the side will raise and lower the
ailerons if desired. How do I turn that tab thing off, so that I don't
accidently knock it and raise (or lower) my ailerons?
