Croz,

Add the root chord to the tip chord and divide by two. (you are finding the
"mean aerodynamic chord" (MAC)) Find the place on the wing between the root
and the tip where the chord equals the MAC. From what you said, you would
balance about 25% back from the leading edge at the MAC. This would be
further back (higher percentage) on the root chord.

Hope that is clear enough. Be careful, however, if the designer flew the
ship with the CG at 25% of the root chord, then start where he recommends.
Move it back if the ship feels nose heavy when you fly it.
