WAS - KFactor Now "Members" Forum?

You would need to send out notification before hand that the current
e-mail
Based list is going away, and that it is being replaced with the new
forum format from the website. Have the forum setup and ready to go with
a link to
It in the notification. Give maybe a week or so for the list readers to
get the notification and get accustomed to the new format.
Then just shut the current e-mail list down from the server.
No one will use the forum based list as Ed mentioned, if the e-mail
based list is kept active. Change will force the readership to take a
few minutes to figure out how to use the new forums.

Bob you may recall I set up a forum for NSRCA some years ago. It wasn't
used
and with all the push and shove we could only muster two or three to use
it.
The problem seems to be the learning process. It's a little harder than
hitting reply and saying something like "I agree" As you know responses
like
this clutter up the list.
It would be fantastic for threads like the two stroke question of recent
days if used properly. All the questions would be on line and the
answers
would be under those questions for a long long time! Of course you would
have to go there and look. However those posting questions may select to
be
notified when a reply is made.
I will activate it again for the NSRCA if the general consensus of those
on
this list is "I would use it!".
Let's just see, go to
http://www.rcpattern.net/messageboard/forums/default.asp click on
Message
Board located under Message Board Support and you will see the
question,.
"Would you use this forum for model questions which would be of
continuing
interest to NSRCA members?" Click on vote and you will get to agree or
disagree: " I will let it run for a few days and post the results.
Using this forum would certainly cut down on the tons of email we get
from
the list!
Ed
