Welcome aboard Greg,
The Pattern Primer idea is alive and well down in FL. Ron Ellis, a long time
F3A competitor of the highest caliber, has been putting one on for the past
five years now. His format is very simple:
1- NO ENTRY FEE
2- Two rounds on Saturday of Sportsman and Intermediate, both counting, in
front of good, experienced judges
3- Framed , computer generated paper graphic form stating the contest, class
and place; the form is mounted on a simple, inexpensive but nice frame. These
trophies cost very little
4- These are fully AMA sanctioned events, but very low key.
Several Masters and F3A guys came to assist Ron and the new pattern pilots
This year I brought some info from the NSRCA website regarding getting
started in Pattern (Yes this exists on our website) Twenty copies were gone
in no time, and another ten would have been better.
This is a simple way to introduce Pattern in your area. Try it.
