Just thought you guys would like to hear my first impressions of a new
Swallow pattern ARF I just maidened today...
Had my first flight today with a new Swallow. I am using an OS 1.2 Surpass
II without a pipe and JR equipment. All servos are the Sport Digitals
except the throttle.
Now, I have not flown aircraft since May and so the first flight was a
little nervy but after the inital jitters were worn off I really enjoyed the
aircraft. It required just a little right aileron trim and a bit of up
(probably since it is so nose heavy!) After all that it really showed what I
expect will be a great *welcome back to pattern* airplane for me. I plan to
use in this spring to help me get started in pattern again after a 15 year
layoff! It flies straight, rolls really well, has pleanty of power and from
my first impressions (2 flights) is really smooth - especially in todays
high wind of 20-30 mph! Someone on this forum mentioned that this would be
a great Pattern starter aircraft (I think Tony Stillman and Ron Van Putte)
several months ago. Again, from my initial impressions, I think they were
right! For 250 bucks, it is pretty had to go wrong.
